PHOENIX, AZ – Raquel Terán, a Latina congressional candidate and community advocate, has garnered endorsements from numerous Latino community leaders.
The community advocate is running for Arizona’s Congressional District 3 in the 2024 election. If elected, she will become the first Latina to represent Arizona in Congress.
Latino community leaders convened last week to publicly declare their support for Terán in an event hosted by Chicanos Por La Causa Action Fund PAC in Central Phoenix. At the same event, they also officially endorsed the Latina congressional candidate.
Joseph Garcia, executive director of CPLC Action Fund PAC, remarked, “As a state senator, state representative, former chair of the Arizona Democratic Party, former board member of Chicanos Por La Causa, and community organizer, Raquel Terán has demonstrated her commitment and tireless efforts to improve the lives of families and communities.”
As an Arizona native and Latina, Terán has advocated for justice and equality. She is determined to continue championing her convictions and representing the interests of the Arizona community in Congress.
“Together, we can create a government that truly works for the people. We can ensure that everyone has access to quality healthcare, protect our planet for future generations, and build an economy that works for everyone.“

Sindy Benavides, Executive Director of the Latino Victory Fund, released a statement endorsing Terán which read in part;
“She has been a staunch advocate for healthcare access, reproductive rights, and economic opportunities. Raquel has demonstrated incredible skill in the state legislature, proving her effectiveness when she helped pass an increase in minimum wages and guaranteed paid sick leave to Arizona’s workers.
In Congress, Raquel will stand up for the people of Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District and utilize her experience as an organizer and as a legislator to solve the biggest problems facing our democracy.“
