This league provides a chance for top Major League Baseball prospects (teams’ best minor league players) to continue honing their skills by playing with, and against, other rising stars. The season lasts six weeks and is a great opportunity for prospects showcase their talents in front of major and minor league baseball scouts.

League is Noteworthy

The AZ Fall League starts on Monday October 2 and this league has a noteworthy history of players making an MLB team. Over 2900 of the nearly 5000 past AFL players have reached the majors since the league began.

The league has produced six Cy Young Award winners, 19 MVPs, and seven World Series MVPs. There is an AZ Fall League Hall of Fame featuring players, coaches, managers and even umpires.

Run by MLB

Run by MLB, the league has been around since 1992 and follows MLB rules and regulations. While playing for one of six teams, players wear the uniforms of their respective MLB parent clubs. Managers and pitching and hitting coaches for each team are provided by MLB organizations on a rotating basis.

Top Level Stadiums and Playing Fields

Most games are played at six Spring Training venues in the greater Phoenix area. The location is advantageous for the Arizona Fall League because all the stadiums—Salt River Fields (Scottsdale), Peoria Sports Complex (Peoria), Sloan Park (Mesa), Camelback Ranch (Glendale), Surprise Stadium (Surprise), and Scottsdale Stadium (Scottsdale)—are within short driving distances of one another. Playing surfaces at the state of the art venues are outstanding and seating and concession areas are always fan friendly.

Afternoon and Night Games

The AZ Fall League begins season 30 and this year each team will play 30 games. Games are played Monday through Saturday (no Sundays), with most starting at either 2:30 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. (Arizona Time). The 2:30 p.m. start time is new this season. The only game played on a Sunday is the Fall Stars game (November 5).
