PHOENIX, AZ – The Funky Latina Music Festival returns on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Phoenix has become a hot-spot for all types of amazing music festivals. One of the most popular in the city the past two years has been hosted by Elyssa Bustamante a.ka. “The Funky Latina.”
Event Producer
Elyssa Bustamante, known as “The Funky Latina” and a native of Tucson, now a resident of Phoenix, is an Event Producer, Host, and DJ. Some of the events she has put on include “Mujeres Mercado” and “Joy to the Polls”, as well as several other live events in the Greater Phoenix area.
For the past two years, Bustamante has devoted her profession, time, and hard work to creating a space and an event that celebrates the vibrant local Latino indie music scene. It’s a place where the Latino community can come together and enjoy these talented up-and-coming artists. The Funky Latina Music Festival, founded in 2022, is the outcome of her efforts. This is a once-a-year event that presents Latin indie artists.
What to Expect
Event goers can expect several of the top independent Latin musical artists from the Valley of the Sun and across the country come together to perform while gaining more recognition. Musicians coming to this Phoenix-based music festival are usually not invited to other musical events. This allows them to showcase their talents outside their regular locations and audiences, expanding their reach.
The Lineup
Considered the only Latin indie music festival in Phoenix, the Funky Latina Music Festival returns for a third year with a variety of acts scheduled to take the stage, including bands Vortxz, an indie bilingual rock band from Houston who plays new-age alternative rock; Los Angeles-based Introverted Funk, who blends R&B, disco and house music; and The New Royals, who brings rock, pop, and electronic music. Phoenician pop singer/songwriter Monique Hasbun, who infuses her Latin and Middle Eastern background in her music, is also on the bill. Two local, Phoenix DJ’s are also schedules to perform – DJ Audrey, who spins dance music from all genres, and Aja Cruz, one of the fastest-growing female DJs in Phoenix.

This third edition of the Funky Latina Music Festival is Saturday, March 30. The music festival will take place at the Crescent Ballroom, 308 N. 2nd Ave., Phoenix. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. The music event begins at 8:00 p.m.
