PHOENIX, AZ – The Valley of the Sun will be featured in the MSNBC docuseries ‘Leguizamo Does America’ alongside Philadelphia, San Antonio, New Orleans, Denver, and Raleigh. John Leguizamo announced the new locations during a Wednesday interview on NBC’s “Today” show.
The show highlights Latino excellence across U.S. cities, featuring chefs, artists, actors, politicians, activists and entrepreneurs. Season 1 of the docuseries explored Latino communities in New York City, Miami, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Puerto Rico and Los Angeles. It featured guests such as comedian George Lopez and filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.
According to Variety, “Leguizamo Does America” was the most-watched MSNBC Films original on Peacock in over two years, with 13% of the viewership being Hispanic.
“This show proves once again that there is an audience for diverse stories, and we are so excited MSNBC is its home for another season,” MSNBC president Rashida Jones told Variety last summer.
A guest list and release date for season 2 have not been announced.
