PHOENIX, AZ – Republic gubernatorial candidate and former News Anchor, Kari Lake, continues to fight the election results for Arizona’s gubernatorial race aiming at political discourse while refusing to concede in race.
The race for governorship in Arizona was called six days after the election, with Democratic candidate, Katie Hobbs, projected as the winner. The state has reported 99 percent of the votes with an estimated 19, 705 remaining to be counted. As of today, the total count stands at one million, two hundred eighty six, sixty votes going to Katie Hobbs and one million, two hundred sixty eight, nine hundred fourteen for Kari Lake.
On Wednesday, the rising MAGA star took to Twitter her reaction of the election results in a video stating “I am still in this fight with you. For two years I have been sounding the alarm about our broken election system here in Arizona and this past week has confirmed everything we’ve been saying… rest assured I have assembled the best and brightest legal team, and we are exploring every avenue to correct any wrongs that have been done.”
It was made clear by the republican candidate that she would only accept the results if it resulted in a victory for her campaign. Lake called the elections “incompetent”, while adding that “what happened on election day is unforgivable” and “our election officials failed us miserably”. Some of the claims have also been endorsed by former President Donald Trump. While Lake negates to accept the election and recognize Hobbs at the winner, county election officials have pushed back on Lake’s allegations.
Election results will be finalized once each county in the state has canvassed the results by December 5th and the Secretary of State certifies the results. A recount will take place in the event that any race shows a victory margin of 0.5% or less, occurring once the canvass has been concluded by the state.
stand she has taken since announcing her race for governor and the 2020 Presidential race. Lake received Trump’s supports from the launch of her campaign which continues to this day amid the recent election results along with support of the false claims aimed at a mismanaged election. The republican candidate has also been extremely vocal on claims of election fraud among the reason behind the loss in the race.
