NCAA Final Four Comes to Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – NCAA Final Four comes to Phoenix following the outstanding Super Bowl LVIII in 2023. The Greater Phoenix area is preparing to take center stage to host another major sporting event. The NCAA Final Four comes to Phoenix to crown a new champion to close out the college basketball season. The last time the City of Phoenix hosted the NCAA Championship was in 2017.

State Farm Stadium 

Once again, State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the Arizona Cardinals, will showcase the games— though Arizona State University will serve as the host. Phoenix has been preparing for the anticipated event since the announcement in summer of 2018 . Once again the greater Phoenix area and the state of Arizona will be in the national spotlight — and at a perfect time of year. The dates for the Final Four are set for April 6 and April 8.

Huge Music Festival

The Phoenix Convention Center will be home to the Final Four Fan Fest once again. In 2017, more than 60,000 people attended the downtown event. The committee is also planning another huge music festival to welcome everyone. Close to 150,000 people attended the festivities and heard some great music during the 2017 March Madness Music Festival, which was held at Margaret T. Hance Park near Downtown Phoenix.

Musicians Playing

The NCAA committee has worked very hard and smart to bring in musicians for all ages and styles of music. Some of the acts who will perform include Grammy-winning artist ZEDD, who headlines on Friday, April 5th. Remi Wolf will kick off the afternoon festivities; Reneé Rapp will also perform.

On Saturday, April 6th, the Grammy-nominated Jonas Brothers will hit the stage. Sunday, April 7th will be headlined by the Grammy-winning Mumford & Sons. The Black Keys, the soulful octet Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats and R&B star Leon Bridges will kick off the beginning of Sunday’s events. There is no cost to attend the music festival.

Free Events

As the Final Four comes to Phoenix, fans can attend many of the free events, along with the free concerts there are open practices. The Phoenix Convention Center will be turned into a sports wonderland of interactive games. There will also celebrity and athlete appearances, and yes, autograph signings and pictures. Fans can also enjoy free team pep rallies, musical basketball-themed games, plus food and beverage.

Economic Boost

With the Valley of the Sun’s amazing April weather, there are many fascinating things to do and see before seeing the Final Four games. This event will bring thousands of visitors from all across the country filling valley hotels and restaurants.

This will certainly have an economic boost for the greater Phoenix area. Not only are these events good publicity for the entire state of Arizona, but they also create a substantial revenue. Back in 2017 the Final Four generated an estimated economic impact of $324.5 million, according to a study by ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business.

No Stranger to Hosting

The greater Phoenix area is no stranger to hosting big time sporting events. The Valley has hosted Super Bowls, World Series and the MLB All Star game. In addition to the Waste Management Golf Tournament, Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction, NBA and WNBA All-Star games and championship games, and the Valley can boast a lot of experience hosting big events.

NCAA Championship football games are also no stranger to the Phoenix area and Phoenix is home to two major bowl games each year. NASCAR and even WWE events have taken place here as well. On top of all that, let’s not forget every year the Valley of the Sun hosts six weeks of MLB Spring Training throughout the greater Phoenix area.

Games will be Momentous

The NCAA tournaments games always provide Cinderella stories, unpredictable emotions, and memories that last a lifetime among fans, coaches, and athletes. Over the past decade, the Final Four has had many thrilling games, standout individual performances, and emotional moments. Some of the games have had unexpected results, making the Final Four more thrilling than other tournaments.
