SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — “Leaders on the Ground,” a community-focused event aimed at addressing some of the state’s most pressing social issues through direct dialogue and coalition building.
The inaugural event, co-hosted by GOD OPS Private Foundation and Chicano State of Mind, will take place on Sunday, May 31st from 4 to 9 p.m. in Scottsdale at Scottsdale United Methodist Church located at 4041 N Miller Road. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
Described by organizers as “where policy meets the people,” the event will bring together the community for discussions centered on housing, homelessness, food insecurity, veteran care and public safety.
“This is a working event — built for those who are serious about changing the lives of the people who need it most,” organizers said in event materials. “Come ready to listen, connect, and move.”
Programming will include live podcast recording by Chicano State of Mind, community outreach providing resources connections, and services to families and veterans in need. In addition, the will be networking opportunities to connect with business owners, executives and professional. Lastly, the evening will conclude with a community dinner and recognitions highlighting business and donors in the community.
GOD OPS Private Foundation, a veteran-owned faith-based nonprofit based in Phoenix, mission focuses on supporting vulnerable populations through community development, food distribution, clean water initiatives and outreach programs across multiple states – Arizona, Florida, Georgia, and Texas.
Meanwhile, Chicano State of Mind stated this collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening civic engagement and uplifting historically underserved communities throughout Arizona.
General admission tickets are priced at $28.52 and include access to all event programming, networking opportunities and refreshments. Seating is limited.
