Phoenix to Host 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and National Congress

By Johanna Rosalye Luna

PHOENIX — Phoenix will host the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and the USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show, marking a major milestone as the city welcomes the country’s top gymnasts and professionals in the sport for the first time.

USA Gymnastics announced Monday that the championships will take place Aug. 6–9, 2026, at PHX Arena in downtown Phoenix. The event will feature the nation’s most elite junior and senior artistic gymnasts competing for national titles and spots on the U.S. National Team, which will help determine the roster for the 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Olympic medalists and world champions are expected to participate, showcasing the highest level of American gymnastics in one of the sport’s most prestigious competitions.

“USA Gymnastics is excited to bring our artistic championships and National Congress to Phoenix for the first time ever,” said Stefanie Korepin, USA Gymnastics Chief Programs Officer. “We look forward to athletes, coaches, judges, fans and Congress attendees experiencing everything downtown Phoenix has to offer.”

The USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show will run Aug. 7–9 at the Phoenix Convention Center, just steps from the competition venue. The event is expected to draw more than 2,500 attendees and exhibitors, offering educational sessions, live demonstrations and networking opportunities for coaches, judges, and gymnastics professionals.

“Phoenix continues the trend of ‘Championship Valley’ with the announcement that we’ll be home to the 2026 U.S. Gymnastics Championships and National Congress,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “We are thrilled to add these events to our growing roster of flawlessly executed major events. Our city has so much to offer, from a vibrant arts and food scene to state-of-the-art facilities.”

While this is the first time Phoenix will host the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, the city has a recent history with USA Gymnastics. In 2022, Phoenix hosted the Stars & Stripes Championships for trampoline and tumbling. The last time the U.S. Championships were held in Arizona was in 1967 in Tucson.

“Phoenix is proud to partner with USA Gymnastics to bring the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships and National Congress to our city,” said Chris Robertson, director of national accounts for Visit Phoenix. “With world-class competition at PHX Arena and professional development at the Phoenix Convention Center, attendees can expect an unforgettable experience in the heart of downtown.”

Ticket information for the 2026 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships will be released this fall.
